GAUGE:

1 Square = 8 x 8 in. (20.5 x 20.5 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Sampler Throw Reviewed by Mary on 2010-05-04 ***
I made all four squares and really didn't care for the two shell squares...they really didn't show off the shells...as it was for my daughter I found two stitches I liked, made two additional squares of them and sent her photos of all 6 squares and she picked the Popcorn, Diamond and the two extras I had done...so I will be doing a modified version...but they aren't as airy as the two I replaced so I am sure I will be needing more yarn..Also the squares are not as big as those in the photo but are to gauge. Maybe once they are attached and the edging is on it will look more like the photo. I was very excited to learn the popcorn and the diamond squares and was surprised at how easy they are.
